Denver's best hands-on experience for children newborn to age eight and their grown-ups is both educational and just plain fun. Programs and playscapes are designed for newborns through age eight-year-olds and their adult caregivers. The Children's Museum of Denver is an essential learning resource that engages the young children of the Denver community in play and active exploration together with their parents and other adults to expand their capacity to learn.
As one of Colorado's oldest and most successful arts institutions, Colorado Ballet is the only organization of its size and stature to produce classical ballet in the state. Colorado Ballet is a unique regional dance company in that it was conceived in a ballet school founded in 1951 by Denver natives Freidann Parker and Lillian Covillo.
The DAM’s department of Architecture, Design & Graphics was formed in 1990 and opened its first permanent galleries in 1993. The Asian art collection, the only such resource in the entire Rocky Mountain region, reflects the diverse creative concepts of a vast and complex area. The Modern and Contemporary collection of 20th-century art contains over 4,500 works, with an emphasis on both internationally known and emerging artists including Alexander Calder, Mark di Suvero, Georgia O'Keeffe and many others.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the Denver Performing Arts Complex — the facility in which The Denver Center presents world-class theatre. The DCPA is currently the largest tenant of the Arts Complex and encompasses Denver Center Theatre Company, Denver Center Attractions, the Education Department, Denver Center Media and the National Center for Voice & Speech.
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is the Rocky Mountain region’s leading resource for informal science education. A variety of exhibitions, programs, and activities help Museum visitors experience the natural wonders of Colorado, Earth, and the universe.

Today, Denver Zoo is home to 4,000 animals representing over 750 species and is one of the most popular zoos in the United States.
